Join us on Friday, July 24th from 10–11:30am at STUMP Northern Liberties for Build a Terrarium, a hands-on plant workshop designed for ages 9–12!
In this creative and educational workshop, young plant lovers will learn how to design and build their own terrarium to take home. Through plant exploration, hands-on planting, and creative design, participants will discover how miniature ecosystems work while creating a unique terrarium of their own.
Workshop Details:
• A fun and interactive workshop designed specifically for children ages 9–12
• We’ll begin with plant exploration where we’ll learn about tropical plants and the environments they grow in
• Participants will learn what a terrarium is, how it functions as a miniature ecosystem, and which plants thrive in terrarium conditions
• Each child will choose from a selection of tropical plants and learn how to layer and plant their terrarium step-by-step
• We’ll explore the building blocks of a successful terrarium, including drainage layers, soil, plant placement, and design techniques
• Children will have the opportunity to personalize their terrariums with natural materials and decorative accents such as cute miniatures (mushrooms, birds, and more!)
• We’ll finish the workshop by learning how to care for our terrariums at home so they can continue to grow and thrive
Your ticket includes:
~ A glass terrarium vessel
