Plant Camp IV: Epiphytes & Mounted Plants @ NoLibs [8/29]

Ever wondered how plants grow on trees in the wild? Join us on Saturday, August 29th from 6:30–8:00 PM for Epiphytes & Mounted Plants, the final workshop in our Plant Camp series. In this hands-on class, you’ll explore the fascinating world of epiphytic plants and create your own mounted plant to take home with you.

Learn what makes epiphytes unique! Epiphytes are plants that naturally grow on trees, rocks and other surfaces without taking nutrients from their host. We’ll explore how these incredible plants grow in nature and why certain tropical plants thrive when mounted instead of potted. We’ll discuss the care requirements of mounted plants, including watering, humidity, lighting, and choosing the best species for this style of growing. You’ll also learn about the materials used to create healthy, long-lasting plant mounts and how to care for them as they mature!

Each participant will create their own mounted plant using natural mounting materials and leave with a beautiful living display that’s equal parts botanical art and thriving houseplant.
